A Reaserch done by: Ahmed Mohamed
INTRODUCTION
The sources of changing students’ behavior and attitude are diverse and varied; family (home), school, and society play a role. Educators often contend that problems in schools stem from children’s experiences at home or in society at large. Therefore, families have huge responsibility in parenting and leading children into right track. A family is standing straight with the strength of parents; father and mother. Hence, family is the basic unit of a society.
Education has an immense impact on the human society. The importance of education is quite clear, and is basically for two reasons. The first is that the training of a human mind is not complete without education. Education makes man a right thinker. It tells the person how to think and how to make productive decision. The second reason for the importance of education is that only through the attainment of education, the person is enabled to receive information from the external world; to acquaint him/herself with past history and receive all necessary information regarding the present.
An uneducated person cannot read and write and hence he/she is closed to all the knowledge and wisdom he/she can gain through books and other mediums. In other words, the person is shut off from the outside world. In contrast, an educated man lives in a room with all its windows open towards outside world. Therefore schooling is the gateway for acquisition of knowledge and education.
During the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, sociologists and educators worked closely together in an enterprise known as Educational Sociology. Their goal was the perfection of humanity and society. Their common belief was that the schools could contribute toward that perfection by developing human intellect and by inspiring students to devote themselves to reforming society. And much of the work done by educational sociologists centered on the relationship between education and the larger society (Sociology and the Field of Education, n d)
“Every Maldivian will have access to quality primary and secondary education with widening opportunities for higher education and training. The education provided will promote maximum realization of individual potential while at the same time instill religious and cultural values that will foster social unity and harmony, and, love and pride in the nation. Maldivians will be endowed with the necessary knowledge and skills to be productive, able and active participants both in the national and international arena.”
Moreover this, I believe that ALL students regardless of race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, religious background, and/or any other classification should deserve wholistic education. Here, “providing education” meant should teach morality, social unity and values, rather than only throwing subject content.

My philosophy of education reflects my fundamental beliefs on which education and learning should be based on. Hence, I would like to reflect and base my philosophy of Education on the vision of Ministry of Education, Republic of Maldives, as it says:
“Every Maldivian will have access to quality primary and secondary education with widening opportunities for higher education and training. The education provided will promote maximum realization of individual potential while at the same time instill religious and cultural values that will foster social unity and harmony, and, love and pride in the nation.
